CLASSIC AID


A year after the Live Aid concert event, a group of highly acclaimed musicians gathered at the Grand Casino in Geneva Switzerland to record Classic Aid. This CBS Masterworks event took place on September 30, 1986 and was  captured on video and released as a record LP and Compact Disc. Special guests included Peter Ustinov, Gina Lollobridgida, Lorin Maazel, Catherine Deneuve, Clarissa Mason, Dietinde Turban, Sally Burton.

Musicians included John Willimas, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Lorin Maazel, Narciso Yepes,
Gidon Kremer, Susan Dunn, Barry Tuckwell, Krystian Zimerman, Seiji Ozawa, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Zubin Mehta, and the
Philharmonoique de Monte-Carlo.
