YU ROCK MISIJA - YUGOSLAVIAN AID
(ZA MILION GODINA-FOR A MILLION YEARS)
In early 1985, multiple
Yugoslavian singers, artists, and musicians gathered together to record a song
titled "Za Milion Godina".
Inspired by the efforts of the Band Aid project, author/composer Dragan Ilić and
text/writer Mladen Popović assembled an all star group. The song was made
available on 45 and 12 in. record. Artwork for the CD single was created by
Jugoslav Vlahović.
In addition to the record, the group gathered to produce a music video that was
shown briefly on European television and aired as part of Yugoslavians'
contribution to Live Aid.
The song was later released in 1989 on CD. This 17 track CD includes both the
singing and instrumental versions of the song.
The remaining 15 tracks featured popular Yugoslavian artists.
